About the Role

PYGIO is looking for a Senior Data Analyst / Engineer to join a client project focused on stabilising and enhancing a newly implemented tactical data and reporting solution following go-live.

This is a 3-month engagement with a strong focus on improving reporting processes, reducing manual effort, resolving operational and data issues, and introducing automation and process improvements.

The role sits at the intersection of Data Analysis, BI Development and Data Engineering, making it a great fit for someone who is comfortable working with both technical data environments and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse existing data, reporting and operational processes.

• Identify opportunities to improve, simplify and automate reporting workflows.

• Reduce manual effort associated with data preparation and reporting.

• Support production reporting cycles and troubleshoot operational issues.

• Investigate data and reporting discrepancies and perform root cause analysis.

• Refine, optimise and enhance the existing tactical data solution.

• Improve report quality, accuracy and operational stability.

• Develop and maintain reporting solutions, including Power BI where appropriate.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business validation activities.

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into practical data and reporting solutions.

• Identify functional, data and reporting gaps and implement appropriate improvements.

• Develop automated validation and reconciliation processes.

• Document the existing tactical solution and identify opportunities for future enhancements.

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure reporting solutions meet business needs.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-have:

• Strong experience with Oracle Database.

• Advanced SQL skills.

• Hands-on experience with Power BI and report development.

• Strong data analysis and data profiling capabilities.

• Experience with data validation and reconciliation.

• Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Experience with testing, quality assurance and UAT.

• Experience with reporting automation and process optimisation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing

During the engagement, you will help the client:

• Stabilise the tactical reporting solution following go-live.

• Improve the quality and accuracy of reporting.

• Reduce manual reporting and data preparation activities.

• Introduce automation and validation controls.

• Support initial production reporting cycles.

• Resolve data and reporting issues.

• Improve the overall usability and operational stability of the solution.

• Document the current solution and identify opportunities for future improvements.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical data skills with a business-oriented mindset.

You should be comfortable moving between SQL/data analysis, Power BI/reporting, troubleshooting and conversations with business users. The ability to quickly understand an existing solution, identify gaps and implement practical improvements will be particularly important for this engagement.
